About
I’m Kristian Kruse. I live in Topanga, in the hills above Los Angeles, [[with my partner / family details]].
[[ONE PARAGRAPH: what you did before, in your own words. Write toward the through-line: helping people have conversations they’d rather avoid, in rooms where avoiding them was costing something. Lead with what you did for people, not your job title. Don’t mention how many years.]]
[[OPTIONAL: your education, if you want it here. Business in Copenhagen, and the MA in Applied Imagination at Central Saint Martins, may be worth one line: this work is partly about helping people imagine an ending clearly enough to prepare for it.]]
I came to this work because [[YOUR REASON. One paragraph, specific, one real event if you’re willing. This is the paragraph people decide on.]]
The way I think about death has been shaped by teachers who treated it as part of life rather than its opposite. Ram Dass, who spent his later years writing about aging, dying, and presence. And the Buddhist idea, older than any one teacher, that learning to die is also learning how to live.
I trained as an end-of-life doula through INELDA, the International End of Life Doula Association. There’s no license for this work, in California or anywhere else, so the honest thing is to tell you exactly what my training is and let you judge it. The training is twenty-five hours. Alongside it, I bring my work as a coach and facilitator, sitting with people through hard conversations without flinching.
[[OPTIONAL: a line about what you do outside this work. It humanizes the page and people read it.]]
